High Adventure and first year program, llamas, great outbound opportunities, view of Mt Jefferson, 4500ft elevation, New dining hall

Our Troop visited Summer of 2006. Absolutely beautiful wooded campsites, Mt Jefferson reflects in the lake. Awesome! Caring staff, good food, sometimes had to fill up some bellies with PB&J's. Great fishing, good program areas. The Llamas are no longer part of the camp. However, there are some awesome opportunities for hiking and outbounds. High elevation so plan for cold evenings and possibly hot afternoons. It snowed us in July! We would highly recommend this camp!

Our Troop has gone to Camp Pioneer several times. It is great. Wonderful campsites, fabulous lake with rowing, canoeing, swimming. Great food, I think this is a boy scout experience that one will always remember. I know I will and all the scouts we brought will. Excellent merit badge availability, wonderful campfire site with view of Mt. Jefferson in reflection on the lake.
Stunning. Plus it is truly in the woods - No other distractions within a day's hike.

Best Scout camp I have been to in my entire scouting career. Friendly and helpful staff, excellent food, and a wide array of merit badges offered. It really is the jewel of the CPC

Camp Pioneer is a 48 acre site leased from the US Forest Service. The site is heavily timbered and features a lake and two small ponds and several campsites and activity stations situated around the lake.

The newest structures are a dining hall and shower house, built in 1998. Other structures include a
‘Quartermaster’ building serving as trading post, shop, office and health lodge; and a small program and meeting building. Each campsite has tent platforms, and the staff area has a mixture of tent platforms and small summer-use cabins.

The facility is very remote, and does not have electric or phone service. Power is supplied to a few
buildings by diesel generator. Satellite internet service and a cellular phone signal amplifier provide
emergency communications. The site is accessible mid-June through mid-October, being covered by snow
the rest of the year and accessible only on an unplowed Forest Service road.
