Camp Acahela is located on the banks of the Lehigh River, east of Wiles Barre, Pennsylvania, in the Pocono mountains. It is an excellent year-round camping facility, with many heated cabins in addition to the campsites and camporee field. Cub Scout resident camp is held here during the summer.

As far as I have been led to believe, Camp Acahela is the 3rd oldest camp in the country, but that may call for some speculation, as diferent factors may arise when determining the age of a camp. Otherwise, Camp Acahela is a beautiful camp located in Blakeslee, Pa. Cub Scout Camp is held in the summer for 5 weeks, there is all year camping going on. 2 ski resorts are located nearby and many other wonderful attractions.

The "Large Pine" camp site may actually be among the most beautiful site I have ever stayed in in almost 40 years of scouting! Directly along the Lehigh River, in a pine needle bedded area, near a meadow, across from mountains, it is wonderful. The ranger - Tim - is also very nice and helpful. Very close also to Steamtown in Scranton if working on the Railroading Merit Badge.
