    Comments for Joseph A. Citta Scout Reservation

    Citta is located in the heart of the Pinelands, about five miles West of Barnegat, NJ in Brookville, NJ. It offers year round camping on 500 acres of Pine Barrren forest. Nine campsites and four buildings are available for camping.
    Citta also offers a lake, rifle range, archery range, and a C.O.P.E. course. The lake is always open for fishing and other water activities.

    Citta is an excellent site that is always changing and improving while maintaining the natural beauty of the Jersey shore. Its location near the ocean and state parks make a great place for both the boys, leaders, and families. I welcome any questions you may have.

    All,
    Citta is a great camp. We have been running 45 years! I'm Anthony Marano, the Citta Office Manager. I have been with Citta for 3 years and we are always improving! We are open all year, but campsites, and many buildings available for people to use, including our new Dining Hall facility, the Albert A. Bisch Rotary Center. This facility is a top of the line building, with a state of the art kitchen and many other attributes. We are also open for Boy Scout Summer Resident Camp, and make reservations soon because we fill up very quickly. We also have a Caming Outdoor Peronal Experience Course, also known as COPE. This is a great course, in which you do rock climbing, rappelling and many other things! All of these facilities are on site. We also go off site for treks during the summer, we do biking, hiking, and kayaking. These are very popular, especially with the older scouts. We also hold a Trail To Eagle Week, in which we work on many of the Eagle Merit Badges, and do a lot of work with the Eagle Scout Service Project! I have been to many camps in my life, and I have come back to Citta for 4 years, 3 of them on staff. It is a great experience!

    Great camp spent Boy Scout and Webelos camp this year had a great time. Can't wait till next year. Staff was wonderful. Food was very good all around great Scout Camp.

    The camp health officer let someone, not from our troop, take our health forms. Council and camp have been very unresponsive to our troop's concerns about this. Lots of promises, but little action. Very sad. I will not let my scouts go back to Citta EVER!

    Citta is putting a lot of effort to becoming a shooting sports destination. If this is something your scouts is interested in I would suggest to contact the camp and set up some range time. You will not be disappointed.
