Welcome to our collection of Scout Oaths, Promises, Laws, and Mottos from around the World.

In addition to these countries we have translations of "Be Prepared" in a number of languages on our translations web page.

About four years ago I began collecting Scout Oaths, Promises and Laws from Scouters from around the world on the Scouts-L discussion list. About three years ago Dee LaRock began researching the same subject. With greatful acknowledgement of Dee's many contributions and permission to use her materials, I am pleased to share with you the best of both of our collections. . . . Michael F. Bowman (Professor Beaver)

Although we are happy to present these web pages, we realize that this collection is incomplete and we are working to continually update it. Similarly, if you find an error in translation, please accept our apologies in advance. Although we have tried to be accurate, our knowledge of many of the languages is far from complete. PLease feel free to suggest changes and improvements. E-Mail Deirdre "Dee" LaRock so that she can make changes to her pages and the pages here at USSSP.

If you'd like to get to know Dee a little better, please visit her web page at Without Dee to encourage me, this set of web pages would still be on my "To Do" list.
